With the restoration of San Giorgio Island promoted by Vittorio Cini, the park area was also revitalized. The buildings erected during the military occupation of the island gave way to a spacious garden where two avenues branch out – the current Holm Oak Avenue and Plane Tree Avenue: the former has been redesigned, while the latter is a remnant of an eighteenth-century layout. In the 1950s, dense groups of trees and shrubs were planted, which over time have grown, now giving the impression of being in a kind of forest. Through QR codes, we aim to share some interesting facts about our trees.
