Welcome to San Giorgio Maggiore Island. You are currently in its main open area, enveloped by the lagoon's waters, devoid of protective barriers.
The island houses the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the church of San Giorgio Maggiore with its bell tower managed by the Benedictine Monks, a bar, the Compagnia della Vela, and temporary exhibitions.
You will find the entrance to the Cini Foundation 30 meters to the right of the ACTV pier. This entrance is equipped with a ramp.
To visit the library or attend seminars at the Foundation, please ring the bell or dial +390412710209. Foundation visits are exclusively through guided tours; book at +393664202181. The Foundation premises offer diverse services for people with disabilities and an elevator for the library and research areas. Centrally located in the open space are the church and its bell tower.
Church access is free but entails climbing 7 steps without handrails. Call +393756323595 for help request. Inside, the ticket counter for the bell tower's elevator is to the far left. To the open area's left corner, you will see entrances to the bar and exhibitions.
This pathway has a diagonal ramp with railings. Beyond the ramp, you will find a barrier-free sidewalk, flanked by water to the left and building entrances to the right.
